Why do people think buying American cars will save the economy?

But based on your own logic, the Japanese parts are made in Japan. This is where the jobs really are. Making all the parts, it doesn't take a whole economy to put the cars together. In essences it is colonialsim in advance. With colonialism you take the raw material from the colony, render it into useable items in the home country and then sell back the durable goods to the colonists. You don't want the colony manufacturing their own goods. So it is with cars. Make the parts in teh homeland and ship the finished goods to the states for assembly. So you are right.
